Abstract
Single crystals of NaBa3RuO6 (I) and NaBa3IrO6 (II) have been prepared by crystallization from melts in closed silver tubes. The crystal str uctures were investigated by X-ray techniques. Both compounds crystall ize with trigonal (rhombohedral) symmetry, space group D-3d(6) -R (3) over bar c, I: a = 10.107(2), c = 11.872(2) Angstrom, II: a = 10.128(2 ), c = 11.905(2) Angstrom Z = 6. I and II are isostructural to the Sr4 PtO6 type.
