Abstract
Dicarbanonaborates inhibit the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase acti vity. In contrast to mitochondrial ATPase or glycerol phosphate dehydr ogenase, inhibition of cytochrome c oxidase was not competitive and th e residual, drug-insensitive activity was higher. These results indica te that dicarbanonaborates inhibit various mitochondrial membrane-boun d enzymes through different mechanisms.
