R. Lucking et M. Matzer, ADDITIONS AND CORRECTIONS TO THE KNOWLEDG E OF FOLIICOLOUS LICHEN FLORA OF COSTA-RICA - OPEGRAPHACEAE (INCLUDING MAZOSIA), Nova Hedwigia, 63(1-2), 1996, pp. 109-144
In the second part of the additions and corrections to the knowledge o
f the foliicolous lichen flora of Costa Rica new or otherwise interest
ing species of the genera Enterographa, Mazosia, and Opegrapha are tre
ated. Enterographa foliicola spec. nov., Mazosia longispora spec. nov.
, M. sorediifera spec. nov., and M. tenuissima spec. nov. are describe
d. Mazosia bambusae, M. pilosa, M. praemorsa, M. pseudobambusae, M. ru
bropunctata, M. tumidula and Opegrapha lambinonii are reported for the
first time from Costa Rica. New localities are given for species alre
ady known to occur in that area. The placement of Mazosia within the O
pegraphaceae is supported by characters of hymenial elements. New cons
iderations are thereby made in the genus Phragmopelteca. Pycnidia of M
azosia species contain conidiophores of two different types. Mazosia s
orediifera is the first known species within the genus producing sored
ia. The thallus morphology of Opegrapha filicina is compared with that
of O. puiggarii, and the relationships between O. puiggarii and O. di
bbenii are discussed.
