Abstract
The pyrolysis of 1,1,1-trimethyl-3,3,3-trichlorodisiloxane (1) was stu died and its mechanism involving the formation of dichloro- and dimeth ylsilanones was proposed. The composition of the condensate from the c o-pyrolysis of siloxane 1 and hexamethyldisiloxane indicated that unde r the pyrolysis conditions the simplest siloxanes can be both the sour ces and the trapping agents of silanones.
