The knowledge and appropriate exploitation of daylight in buildings ma
y contribute significantly to energy savings and therefore to environm
ental relief. In Greece, daylight measurements started for first time
at the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) on January 1, 1992. This p
aper presents the daylight levels (global and diffuse horizontal, as w
ell as global vertical facing north and south) for a representative sp
ring and autumn month. From the analysis it is seen that spring daylig
ht levels are higher than autumn ones.
