Abstract
The 3'-untranslated region (3'UTR) of five isolates of turnip mosaic v irus (TuMV) from United Kingdom, Canada, Greece, the Czech Republic an d from Uzbekistan were sequenced and compared with another nine previo usly sequenced TuMV isolates. All the isolates had 209 nucleotides lon g 3'UTR, with the exception of the Uzbekistan isolate, which had one-b ase deletion at nucleotide (nt) position 162. Phylogenetic analysis id entified three clusters of related isolates. The clusters correlated w ith secondary folding of the 3'UTRs, partially with the source host pl ant of the isolates but not with their geographical origin.
