Abstract
An anthraquinone derivative, ihydroxy-8-methoxy-2,3-dimethyl-9,10-anth raquinone (1) has been isolated from ethyl acetate extract of the root bark of Cassia grandis (Leguminosae) and characterized by spectral an d chemical analyses. This is the first report of isolation and charact erisation of this compound.
