Abstract
The prevalence of polypoid lesions of the gallbladder has not been wel l described. Epidemiological studies in Japan show that the prevalence is 6.28% in males and 3.5% in females (1), or 5.3% in males in anothe r study (2). In Denmark, the prevalence of 4.6% in males and 4.3% in f emales has been reported (3), The incidence seems to be low in the Uni ted Kingdom, as low as 1.3% (4). These findings suggest that there are differences in the prevalence among races or areas. In the Medline da tabase from 1976 to the present, however, no additional information is available in the English literature on the prevalence of polypoid les ions of the gallbladder.
