Carcinoid of the ampulla of Vater seems to be extremely rare: It repre
sents <0.3% of all gastrointestinal carcinoids (1). We present a patie
nt with ampullary carcinoid, which was diagnosed incidentally during a
n upper gastrointestinal (UGI) endoscopy.
