Abstract
The Mossbauer isomer shift of iron in the cubic oxygen-deficient perov skite SrFeO3-Delta and in brownmillerite SrFeO2.5, has been measured a t 500 degrees C as a function of oxygen partial pressure p(O2). The av erage charge on the iron ions has been calculated from the isomer shif ts and is discussed in the framework of the defect structure of the co mpound.
