QUANTUM INTEGRABILITY FOR THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL BARIEV CHAIN

The quantum integrability of the one-dimensional Bariev chain is studi ed. This is achieved by identifying a one-parameter family of transfer matrices commuting with the Hamiltonian of the model. Further, the co mmutativity of the transfer matrices for different values of the spect ral parameter follows from the fact that the quantum R matrix does exi st for the model under consideration.
