The dependence of the kinetics of globularization of the lamellar stru
cture in titanium alloy VT9 (Ti-6.6% Al-3.5% Mo-1.7% Zr-0.27% Si) on t
he character of high-temperature loading was investigated. It was foun
d that monotonic methods of loading (tension, torsion, tension with si
multaneous torsion) were more effective means of refining the structur
e than non-monotonic ones (reverse torsion, torsion alternate with ten
sion, multiaxial forging).
