Abstract
Tile I-4(9/2) --> I-4(15/2) luminescence decay curves for a series of complexes Er(pdc)(n)(acac)(3-n) (pdc = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate, aca c = acetylacetonate, n = 0, 1, 2, 3) as solids and ill dilute aqueous solutions have been investigated. Tile decays are multiexponential, po ssible reasons for this and for tile short lifetimes observed are disc ussed.
