Abstract
Several species of frogs show abundant cytoplasmic granules in hepatoc ytes (parenchymal cells). The granules stain positively with Gomori's chrome haematoxylin-phloxin and a rich in organic sulphur as evidenced by the performic acid Alcian blue at low pH method. The granules are akin to similar cytoplasmic granules occurring in brain astrocytes of mammals.
