A. Jablonska et T. Szklarzewicz, COMPARATIVE-ANALYSIS OF THE OVIDUCT STRUCTURE OF CAMPODEA SP (DIPLURA, CAMPODEINA) AND PETROBIUS-BREVISTYLIS (MICROCORYPHIA), Acta Biologica Cracoviensia. Series Zoologia, 38, 1996, pp. 35
The lateral oviduct walls of Campodea sp. are composed of one-layer ep
ithelium. The epithelium is not surrounded by muscle fibers. Membranes
of basal parts of oviduct cells form a system of regularly arranged f
olds, which are equipped with numerous microfilaments. The small amoun
t of organelles indicates a low synthetic activity of these cells. The
oviduct walls of Petrobius brevistylis consist also of one-layer epit
helium but is surrounded by muscle fibers. The latter form concentrati
ons, which protrude into the body cavity. Similarly as in Campodea sp.
in oviduct cells of P. brevistylis small number of organelles are fou
nd.
