Vf. Ivanov et al., ELECTROCHEMICAL SYNTHESIS OF POLYANILINE ON VAPOR-DEPOSITED POLYANILINE LAYERS, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 32(8), 1996, pp. 858-861
Polyaniline is synthesized electrochemically on the surface of the lay
ers deposited on transparent conducting SnO2-based electrodes by fract
ional thermal vapor deposition of emeraldine base in vacuo. The synthe
sis is conducted in the galvanostatic mode, in aqueous solutions of an
iline hydrochloride. It is shown that, prior to the commencement of th
e electrochemical process, vapor-deposited polyaniline undergoes proto
nation. At the initial stages, the electrochemical process is conjugat
ed with oxidation of the layer deposited. Highly homogeneous polyanili
ne layers of different configurations can be obtained on conducting su
bstrates by this method.
