locenes [(C(5)H(4)R)(2)Sm(THF)(2)] (R = (t)Bu, SiMe(3)), [Pyr(2)Sm(TH
F)], [Cp(2)(Y)b(THF)], and [(C(5)Me(4)Et)(2)Sm(THF)] with Ag[BPh(4)] a
nd by protolysis of the lanthanoide alkyls [Cp(2)YMe(THF)], [Cp(2)*Yb
CH(SiMe(3))(2)], and [(C(5)Me(4)Et)(2)LnCH(SiMe(3))(2)] (Ln = Y, Sm) b
y [NEt(3)H][BPh(4)]. The H-1- and C-13-NMR spectra of the new compound
s are discussed. 5 crystallizes in the space group P2(1)/c with a = 10
.604(7), b = 21.749(3), c = 19.124(4) Angstrom, beta = 96.47(4)degrees
, Z = 4 and V = 4383(3) Angstrom(3) (R = 0.0291 for 8517 observed refl
ections with F-o greater than or equal to 4 sigma (F-o).
