Abstract
This paper is devoted to the estimate of the exponential decay rate of some evolution problems. Three different methods are proposed. Applic ation to optimal control of the wave equation with internal or boundar y control are given. in addition, estimates of the norm of the the Ric catti operator and of its inverse are given. It is shown that they are linked to the estimate of the exponential decay rate.
