Photoelectric UBV observations of the infrared source IRAS 18062+2410
= HDE 341617 were first carried out on 38 nights in 1995. Night-to-nig
ht light variations with an amplitude as large as 0.(m)4 were detected
. The colors corrected for interstellar reddening suggest that the sta
r is most probably of spectral type B5 I. Spectroscopic observations l
end support to the B classification of the star and reveal the presenc
e of strong Ra emission in its spectrum. The current spectral type of
HDE 341617 disagrees sharply with its estimate (A5) given in the HDE c
atalog. Analysis of the photographic collection of the Sternberg Astro
nomical Institute Sky Patrol indicates that in the first half of this
century the star was, on average, almost 1.(m)5 brighter than at prese
nt.
