Abstract
A new low-symmetry S = 1 electron spin resonance centre with lines wel l separated from the g = 2 position has been observed in electron-irra diated type IIa diamond. Six groups of lines R1a-R1f with the same sym metry as RI but with slightly smaller D values were also observed. The C-13 hyperfine structure of R1 has been analysed and possible models for R1 are discussed.
