REACTIONS OF PERFLUORO-2-METHYL-2-PENTENE WITH CERTAIN DIALKYLAMINES

Reactions of perfluoro-2-methyl-2-pentene with (4-trifluoromethyl-2,3, 5,6-tetrafluorophenyl)amine and morpholine in acetonitrile in the pres ence of pyridine or triethylamine yield mixtures of isomeric etrafluor ophenyl)aminoperfluoro-2-methyl-2-pentene and 1-N,N-di(4-trifluorometh yl-2,3, trafluorophenyl)aminoperfluoro-2-methyl-2-pentene, and luoroet hyl-2-trifluoromethyl-1-propenyl)morpholine and -octafluoro-2-trifluor omethyl-1-pentyl)morpholine, respectively; in contrast, reactions with pyrrolidone, succinimide, and phthalimide yield only products of fluo rine substitution at the internal double bond. Transformations of thes e compounds are discussed. H-1, C-13, and F-19 NMR and IR spectra of t he compounds prepared are presented.
