Abstract
The title complex, [Cd-2(S2O3)(2)(C14H12N2)(2)], presents a dimeric st ructure with the novel feature of having the thiosulfate group acting as both a bridging and a bidentate ligand. This unusual coordination m ode leads to an S-S bond length in the mid-range of those found in the S-bridging thiosulfates, but longer than those observed in monodentat e S-bonded complexes. The pentacoordinate Cd-II center exhibits a dist orted environment.
