Abstract
The phenyl rings of the title compound, C24H17F3Se, make an angle of 2 1.1 (2)degrees to each other and 59.1 (1)degrees (CF3-substituted) and 59.6 (1)degrees (SeMe-substituted) with the naphthalene plane. The ma jor distortion of the naphthalene ring system is seen in the angles C8 a-C1-C9, C8-C8a-C1 and C8a-C8-C16, which are all ca 125 degrees; there is little out-of-plane distortion.
