Two new isomeric 14-membered ring compounds, C23H30O8, were synthesize
d based on Michael addition macrocyclization, which leads to completel
y controlled diene,geometries, trans-trans and trans-cis. The crystal
structures show the respective trans-trans and trans-cis diene geometr
ies and their corresponding cis and trans ring junctions.
