A fuzzy knowledge base (a set of conditional statements) is a suitable
framework for acquisition of vague, sparse and inconsistent knowledge
. An integration of cost records and re-used literature knowledge item
s is a crucial step toward development of an applicable knowledge base
. A very simple idea of a fuzzy interpretation of tables is used to in
tegrate statements of different accuracy (general heuristics, relative
ly accurate specific project files). This is more or less an ad hoc pr
ocess. Therefore, this paper presents a detailed description of a case
study (a preliminary investment cost estimation, Lang factor, five va
riables and two subsets of conditional statements are integrated into
a complex knowledge base, 113 statements) is presented in detail.
