Theory of motion of a flow of relativistic charged particles through a
spatially inhomogeneous electromagnetic wave is developed with allowa
nce for the wave phase at the moment when a particle is injected into
the wave. The wave field and the motion of particles are described by
equations of classical electrodynamics. The phenomenon of a partial tr
ansmission of particles through a barrier is theoretically described.
The variation in the spatial distribution of particles in a flow movin
g through the wave is analyzed.
