Abstract
The preparation of the tethered bis(cyclopentadienyl)-phosphine compou nd bis(2-cyclopentadienylethyl)phenylphosphine 1 from phenylphosphine, n-butyllithium and spiro[2,4]hepta-4,6-diene is described. The synthe sis of the ferrocene complex PPh(CH2CH2-eta(5)-C5H4)(2)Fe 2 from 1 and the synthesis of the heterobimetallic Pd-Fe complex trans-PdCl2[PPh(C H2CH2-eta(5)-C5H4)(2)Fe](2) 3 from 2, along with its X-ray structure, is also described.
