We describe our experience using a deep-plane technique to create an i
nferiorly based musculocutaneous flap to decrease distal flap necrosis
in reconstruction of large anterior cheek and lower eyelid defects. O
ur early experience with the use of the deep-plane cervicofacial flap
has been encouraging. We believe that it deserves more study for use i
n the population at risk for flap necrosis.
