Abstract
It is demonstrated that thin-layer chromatography with catalytic detec tion can be applied to the separation and detection of aldehydes in mi xtures. A procedure for determining formaldehyde (3-100 mu g), benzald ehyde (0.2-2 mg), and bromoacetaldehyde (15-100 mu g) in mixtures is d eveloped. A procedure for determining bromoacetaldehyde in the presenc e of a 100-fold excess of its acetal is proposed.
