BLACK-START AND RESTORATION OF A PART OF THE ITALIAN HV NETWORK - MODELING AND SIMULATION OF A FIELD-TEST

ENEL (Italian Electricity Board) planned a set of operator guidelines for the restoration of parts of the national grid starting from select ed hydro power plants and progressively reaching thermal units. In ord er to improve system restoration reliability, ENEL periodically execut es field tests taking advantage of the maintenance outages of the ther mal groups. The paper concerns with modelling and simulation of an exp erimental test performed on the Italian KV network near the French bor der. The study makes use of a stability code provided with user define d model facilities, enabling an accurate description of loads and regu lation equipments during the restoration process.
