DIGITAL HALF-TONING BY ERROR DIFFUSION WITH PERTURBATION

An error diffusion method is well known as one of the half-toning meth ods for displaying grey tone pictures on a bilevel display. However, t he error diffusion method has some shortcomings, such as the appearanc e of correlated artefacts and directional hysteresis. To defeat these shortcomings, the author proposes a new error diffusion method with pe rturbation.
