Abstract
A case study is presented in order to illustrate the usefulness of mul tispectral information for the classification of cloud complexity in s evere weather conditions. Severe weather over Rodos island and the Ion ian Sea on 20 October 1994 occurred just one day before the heavy rain fall over mainland Hellas, which due to sudden flooding over certain a reas of Attiki, Hellas, led to the deaths of 10 people.
