Hs. Kou et Dk. Huang, POSSIBLE TRANSFORMATIONS FOR NATURAL-CONVECTION ON A VERTICAL FLAT-PLATE EMBEDDED IN POROUS-MEDIA WITH PRESCRIBED WALL HEAT-FLUX, International communications in heat and mass transfer, 23(7), 1996, pp. 1031-1042
This study derived the transformation of boundary layer equations for
two-dimensional steady natural convection on a vertical wall embedded
in porous media. Three different kinds of thermal boundary conditions
are prescribed for wall heat nux:uniform distribution, power law varia
tion, and exponential variation. The flow pattern contains three subre
gions based on the distance along the flat plate. When inertia resista
nce is ignored, similarity solution exists in case wall heat flux is i
n linear distribution. The known relationships of uniform wall tempera
ture relative to wall heat flux variation and uniform wall heat flux r
elative to wall temperature variation in both cases of the pure fluid
flow and the pure porous now can all be obtained in the present transf
ormation.
