New exact solutions are obtained for time independent nonlinear reacti
on-diffusion equations with source term which decreases spatially and
increases with temperature arising as a simplified model of microwave
heating. These solutions are derived for infinite slab, infinite cylin
der and sphere through a simple mathematical procedure. In an attempt
to illustrate some properties of these solutions we prescribe physical
ly relevant thermal conditions. These solutions accordingly admit uniq
ue nonvanishing real solutions and multiple solutions.
