Ab. Gilman et al., EFFECT OF CHARGE STATES ON WETTABILITY OF POLYIMIDE FILMS MODIFIED INA LOW-FREQUENCY GLOW-DISCHARGE PLASMA, High energy chemistry, 30(5), 1996, pp. 335-338
Variations in contact angle and surface potential for polyimide films
modified in a plasma of low-frequency glow discharge in atmospheric ai
r were studied for different durations of treatment and storage of sam
ples under various conditions (in vacuum, air, or moist chamber). Thes
e parameters were shown to correlate, thus suggesting that a change in
wettability might be associated with formation of surface charge stat
es in the polymer.
