Abstract
The physiological mechanisms of interaction between mycoplasmas (the s mallest prokaryotes) and host plant cells are still not clear. In this review, some phenomenological aspects of plant infection by mycoplasm as are discussed in the context of biogenic stress, and the possibilit y of genome recombination in this host-parasite system is considered.
