Personal computers (PCs) are frequently used in fracture laboratories
for a host of tasks including the capture and processing of experiment
al data. The aim of this research was to devise fracture models that c
ould be hosted on a PC which are easy to reconfigure to simulate the f
racture behaviour of different materials. A recently devised fracture
PC model is presented which is configured to be used with the frozen t
ongue experimental technique(1,2) to study the dynamic fast fracture p
rocesses in medium density polyethylene (MDPE). Copyright (C) 1996 Els
