Abstract
A new, convenient synthetic pathway to non-stoichiometric mixed-valenc e tetrathiafulvalenium salts is presented. Study of TTF . squarilium c hloride salts produced using this method provides further evidence tha t the generation of the radical species takes place through acid-base reactions.
