VACUUM AND COLOR PLASMA PANELS

Large size (over 40 inches diagonal) Color plasma Panels have recently been demonstrated in various meetings around the world. Several compa nies have unveiled their decision to invest big amount of money (sever al hundreds of million dollars) in this technology. This paper revue t he state of the art of the technology with a particular focus on the u se of vacuum technologies. The different structure of panels are descr ibed, then the fabrication technologies and finally the status of the developments by the main actors in the domain.
