A. Miyazato et al., TEC PROTEIN-TYROSINE KINASE IS INVOLVED IN THE SIGNALING MECHANISM OFGRANULOCYTE-COLONY-STIMULATING FACTOR-RECEPTOR, Cell growth & differentiation, 7(9), 1996, pp. 1135-1139
Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a critical cytokine t
o promote the growth, differentiation, and functional activation of my
eloid cells. Despite its important roles, little is still understood h
ow one cytokine can trigger such pleiotropic effects, By using mouse c
ell lines which can grow or differentiate in response to G-CSF, we inv
estigated whether Tec protein tyrosine kinase is involved in either of
the signaling pathways, Interestingly, Tec is shown to be tyrosine ph
osphorylated and activated by the G-CSF stimulation in both cell growt
h and differentiation mechanisms, Vav is also shown to be associated w
ith Tec and tyrosine phosphorylated in response to G-CSF, Tec is a goo
d candidate for protein-tyrosine kinases involved in both growth and d
ifferentiation mechanisms of myeloid cells.
