The biology of the reproduction of two arctic species of meadow grass,
Paa alpigena (Blytt) Lindm. and P. sublanata Reverd., and their intra
specific pseudo-viviparous taxa was studied during: 1993-1994 on the c
oasts of the southern parts of the Gulf of Ob and Taz Bay. It was show
n that pseudo-viviparous taxa were able to regularly form viable seeds
. The total production of ripe diaspores of pseudo-viviparous taxa per
unit area exceeded the amount of seeds produced by seed plants of the
same species.
