THE SYSTEM OF FEDERAL MAXIMUM ADMISSIBLE CONCENTRATIONS FOR THE FISHING INDUSTRY - DOES IT MAKE ECOLOGICAL SENSE

With regard to original research in the field of the ecological toxico logy of aquatic biocenoses and literature data, it is concluded that r egulation of the anthropogenic toxicological load on the basis of fede ral maximum admissible concentrations of pollutants is ecologically in correct. In rating the discharge of anthropogenic pollutants into ecos ystems, zonal and other peculiarities of their toxicological resistanc e should be taken into account.
