Abstract
Using the psychophysical methodology, this investigation examined whet her the revised weight limit recommended by the U.S. National Institut e for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) can be used for Korean wo rkers. Young male college students and field workers participated in t he experiment. The psychophysical experiment and the validation experi ment were performed in sagittal plane where lifting frequency and lift ing height varied. The load constant obtained in this investigation wa s about the same as the one recommended in the NIOSH equation, which m eans that young, healthy, Korean males are well protected by the NIOSH equation.
