Abstract
Satisfactory yields have been obtained in a one pot synthesis of hexah ydroquinoleines and unsymmetrical 1,4-dihydropyridines using acidic or basic alumina respectively using catalytic DMF under microwave activa tion. Results were compared with those obtained following the classica l method. The advantages obtained by the use of microwave irradiation were demonstrated.
