Abstract
It is shown that the numerical range of a tridiagonal operator with 0 main diagonal is symmetric with respect to the origin. Some related sp ecialized results under stronger hypotheses are included. In particula r, if the order of a matrix is 3, then its numerical range is an ellip tical disk and is explicitly described.
