Abstract
We study propagation of excitations in one-dimensional tight-binding c hains doped with random impurities that are classical Einstein oscilla tors. We find that the presence of impurities does not affect substant ially the ballistic nature of the electronic propagation. Furthermore, for some oscillator masses, wave propagation is faster than that of t he ordered tight-binding chain.
