Abstract
Polysilane comb polymers, which incorporate ethoxyethoxybutane in the
side chain of the polymer, have been used as polymer electrolyte hosts
. The polysilane polymers solubilize lithium triflate, allowing polyme
r electrolytes of a range of compositions to be prepared and studied.
[(CH3CH2OCH2CH2O(CH2)(4))Si(CH3)](n) containing lithium triflate at a
concentration of four oxygens per lithium cation has a room temperatur
e ionic conductivity of 1.2 x 10(-7) S cm(-1).
