Abstract
The T-8 cage in (HSiO3/2)(8) has been successfully derivatised to give (ROSiO(3/2))(8) and (R(3)SiOSiO(3/2))(8) by the reaction with alcohol s and silanols in the presence of catalytic amounts of amines. The mos t effective catalyst is Et(2)NOH.
