Abstract
We present a diffusion Monte Carlo study of a single vortex in two-dim ensional superfluid liquid He-4 within the fixed-node approximation. W e use both the Feynman phase and an improved phase which includes back flow correlations to model the nodal surface of the vortex wave functi on. Results for the particle density, core radius, and excitation ener gies are presented.
