MODEL - A DUAL FOCUSED INTERVENTION FOR DEPRESSION AND ADDICTION

Adolescent depression and alcohol dependence are two major conditions affecting the youth of America. This article describes how adolescents are affected by these conditions and offers a dually focused treatmen t plan. The intervention is created to address the issues related to d epression and alcohol dependence. To facilitate and maintain behaviora l changes in treatment, the plan will consist of an adolescent group a nd a family program. The benefits of this type of treatment and ration ale for its application are also discussed.
